Using mechanical diggers we excavate site up to a maximum depth of 260mm and remove all waste materials from site with grab lorries, we do not use skips.

We do not 'recycle' old driveway materials unless specifically requested and always excavate to the 'Approved Contractors Specification' depth.

Laying of Geo-Textile Membrane

Ground stabilising membrane is used to prevent fine particle migration and weed growth and is laid beneath the 'Brett Approved Contractors Specification' sub-base.

Laying of MOT Type 1 sub-base

We lay up to 150mm of MOT Type 1 sub-base, not hard core or 'recycled' driveway materials unless requested.

Compacting of sub-base

Once the sub-base is laid to the correct levels and falls we compact the area several times to prevent subsidence and fine particle erosion.

Installation of Retaining Kerbs

All outer edges, not already retained, are set on concrete haunching, first not last, and raised kerb edgings are fitted.

Installation of Channel Drainage

In order to meet the latest planning laws, effective 1st October 2008, channel drainage and void soak-away chambers are fitted to deal with surface water and prevent run-off. This ensures compliance with Building Regulations and Local Authority Legislation.

Installation of Recessed Manhole Covers

Unsightly cast iron manhole covers can easily be replaced with Recessed Manhole Covers. With integral keys, access to existing drains is easy and helps to enhance the finished driveway surface.

Laying of 50mm Coarse Sand

50mm or 60mm Block Paving is laid on a 50mm bed of coarse sand which is compacted several times until it is as flat as a billiard table in order to create the perfect surface for the laying of block paving.

Our skilled fitters are fully trained and are specialists in the installation of all types of block paving surfaces for driveways, patios and paths.

We cut blocks to show a minimum of three manufacturing faces which reduces the amount of unsightly and irregular cuts in order to achieve a high quality finished result.
